I’ve received your incredibly encouraging messages of support for me and the Gospel of Inclusion, and I wanted to say thank you for personally taking the time to write.
Beginning immediately after the first airing of NPR's"This American Life" (click on icon to listen) highlighting my curious journey of spiritual revelation, the outpouring of support for our work has been unprecedented. Literally, I have been inundated with thousands of visitors to our web-site and hundreds of personal commentaries from people just as yourself in just a short time. I love reading each one I receive as soon as I can get to it.
I’m sure you realize now, after seeing the Dateline show, that preaching this gospel (good news) has cost me nearly everything I’ve spent 30 years of my life building. However, I believe that it is my God-ordained calling to re-present a genuine image of a God of Love to the world and watch as it inspires peace in ways institutionalized Christianity has failed to do for over 1,500 years.
In the book, “A Course in Miracles”, the author says: Healing involves an understanding of what the illusion of sickness is for. Healing is not possible without this. Healing is accomplished the moment the sufferer no longer sees any value in the pain……Our present religious sickness is an election, it is a decision we’ve made, indeed a choice of spiritual weakness and lack. Our sickness is a method perceived in madness, it is placing our religious institutions ahead of the true Spirit of Christ thus making us a victim to doctrines, dogmas and even disciplines that separate us from the broader consciousness of pure Spirit! Realizing this is a new Second Coming.
I genuinely believe that sick and abusive religion has created a global paranoia that continues to threaten the very future of the civilized world. We need to remove the gripping FEAR that is being used to control people in the religious as well as political worlds. I am greatly encouraged by your interest in our work and believe that together, we can make a difference.
As you have heard, we need all the help we can get. Religious fundamentalism, in all forms, would like nothing better than to silence this voice of freedom. It seems that preaching a message of exclusivity and hell is much more profitable than teaching folks that God is a God of Love and Forgiveness for all people.
