She will now be the Queen

The crown of gilded bone is the third book in Jennifer L. Armentrout’s From blood and Ash saga.

In The crown of gold-gilded bone, we follow Poppy and Casteel’s journey to Atlantia. Poppy is the chosen one of the gods and the true heir of the crown of Atlantia. The people of Atlantia don’t like her arrival and consider her a strange servant.

Casteel, Poppy and their goal is to find their siblings. It is not an easy task, however. As the plot develops, many secrets are revealed and they face problems that are beyond their abilities.

I was eager to get my hands on the third From blood and Ash book. Although I expected more, I wasn’t disappointed.

Casteel and Poppy have a better relationship in The crown of gilded bone. Casteel has changed a lot in the story, and she is now a fighter who will do anything for her family. We also see her cold, authoritarian, and passionate side. The young, innocent woman in the first book is gone. She has been replaced by a strong and determined person.

Casteel on the other side is a character that hasn’t seen much development, but doesn’t require it. It is clear that he loves Poppy and that he has made a great sacrifice for her.

You are my foundation. You are my walls, my ceiling. My shelter. You are my home.”

There were many romantic moments, and the relationship that was once a bittersweet one has evolved to be a loving one. The couple displays an unconditional love that is rare in real life. The dialogues between them are amazing and capture that feeling perfectly. Poppy and Casteel are one of those couples that make you believe in love, and heartmates.

Kierran is an admirable character. His personality and willingness to endure everything throughout history has been something I really like.

The ending and beginning of this third book are strong. The story started with tension and continued for a few chapters. After that, the story moved along normally to the end. There was a twist in the plot that left me wide-eyed and I was surprised.

The author has made some filler scenes, and some chapters are quite long. The book is less dynamic than the previous two, and I had to force myself through the last pages to get it finished.

But, The Crown of Gilded Bones left me wanting more. This story is full of potential and the author knows how to make it a work-of-art.

Jennifer L. Armentrout takes us deep into the world of vampires and werewolves. We also meet rare and unusual beings. After reading several books by Jennifer L. Armentrout, I must mention her remarkable ability to finish books and leave readers with an existential gap. I can’t wait to read the fourth book in this saga, The Crown of Gilded Bones, but I have finished The Crown of Gilded Bones.

Summary:

The crown of the gilded bone was a great read with well-developed characters and an epic beginning and end. Although there isn’t much dynamism, it is not necessary because of the plot twist at the end. A shocking ending.

Courage is a fleeting thing, isn’t it? Courage is a fleeting beast. It can get you into trouble but it quickly disappears once you’re where you want it to.
